Waydoo Subnado vs LEFEET vs Sublue: Underwater Scooter Comparison (2026)

TL;DR: The Waydoo Subnado is the lightest and most compact scooter in this comparison at 1.4 kg; the Subnado Plus adds an 800 W motor while staying carry-on-sized. LEFEET's range trades weight for a replaceable-battery system and tops out at the powerful P1 XR; Sublue's WhiteShark MixPro is the budget classic. Full spec table below — with honest numbers only.

First, how to read scooter spec sheets honestly

We have deliberately left out the "top speed" and "runtime" figures every brand advertises. They are usually inflated, measured in different ways, and depend on the diver's weight, shape, wetsuit and accessories — so they are not comparable between brands. Instead, compare two numbers that do not lie:

  • Motor power (W) — the most accurate way to compare speed potential.
  • Battery capacity (Wh) — the best way to compare run time.

What the numbers say

Weight and packability. The Subnado is in a category of its own at 1.4 kg — half the weight of a LEFEET C1 or a WhiteShark, and the only one here that disappears into a beach bag. LEFEET's lightest, the P1 Lite, matches the Subnado Plus at 1.8 kg but with roughly half the motor power (450 W vs 800 W).

Power per kilo. The Subnado Plus delivers 800 W from 1.8 kg. To out-power it in the LEFEET range you need the P1 XR — 1000 W, but at 3.2 kg and US$1,299. The WhiteShark MixPro does not publish a motor rating, which tells you something about spec-sheet marketing in this category.

Batteries: built-in vs replaceable. LEFEET and Sublue use replaceable packs — genuinely useful if you want to swap batteries mid-day and do not mind carrying spares. Waydoo builds the battery in, which keeps the unit smaller, lighter and simpler to seal. For travel, note that the Subnado's 98 Wh sits under the common 100 Wh airline carry-on threshold; larger or multiple packs need airline approval either way.

Depth. Subnado's 60 m rating covers anything a snorkeller or recreational freediver will ever do. The C1 (30 m) and WhiteShark (40 m) are pool-and-surface oriented.

Which one for which rider?

  • Travel, snorkelling, family beach days: Subnado — lightest, airline-friendliest, 3 gears, and locally stocked in Dubai with warranty.
  • Stronger swimmers, freediving, towing: Subnado Plus — the best power-to-weight in the table — or the P1 XR if you want maximum wattage and do not mind 3.2 kg and the price.
  • Tightest budget: LEFEET C1 or Sublue WhiteShark MixPro — capable starter units; check depth ratings and local support before buying.
  • Serious pull: any dual set — two Subnado Plus on the twin-engine handle is 1,600 W of very portable thrust.

The UAE angle

Global MSRPs exclude shipping and taxes, and none of these brands run official service in the Gulf — except Waydoo, through us. The Subnado (AED 2,200) and Subnado Plus (AED 3,250) are in stock in Dubai with VAT included, genuine accessories on the shelf and warranty handled locally. Imported alternatives add freight, 5% duty and 5% VAT — and any warranty claim travels abroad.

Quick answers

Which underwater scooter is best for travel? The Subnado: 1.4 kg, carry-on dimensions, and a 98 Wh built-in battery under the common airline limit — check your airline's battery policy before flying.

Are replaceable batteries better? They are better for all-day sessions with spare packs; built-in is better for weight, size and sealing simplicity. Decide by how you will actually use it.

Can I try one in Dubai? Yes — message us and we will arrange a Subnado demo, or see both models on our Subnado collection page.
